These Victrix models are absolutely awesome. I'm planning to use these for auxiliaries with my Roman Legions.
You can see how dynamic they are. They practically paint themselves.
And they are glorious looking once all done.
I think they are great addition. They will likely double for use with my upcoming Greek army that is in the works.
Much more to follow.

Medusa!
A new one for me is painting a Medusa. This the second time I have painted a Reaper Bones model, and it will likely be the last time as well. Not really a fan of that material, price is cheap and that is not always a good thing.
I've been looking for some decent Medusa models, this is not one of them. The model just not good, neither is the sculpt. I think my paintwork made it look slightly better.I am eventually going to be doing some Greeks and this will be one of the models that I'm going to use with all of that down the road.
The above pic, shows one of those horrible mold lines that you cannot remove with a scalpel like normal plastic models. And I did not feel like going in and fixing it with green stuff.
Quite honestly this model will likely never leave my game room.
Speaking of that game room, once I get the bathroom work done, that may be the next major project.
The above is probably the best angle of this pitiful creature. If you know of some good medusa's please let me know in the comments. Until next time, get out, and get things done.

Immortal Miniatures/Warlord Greeks (Short) Review
Immortal Miniatures' classical Greeks have been out for quite sometime. I recently picked up a box for quite cheap off Ebay. One of the local guys I know has built some of these and complained about the spindly size of the minis. Most of the time when around his though I only had my midget Warlord Games Romans with me for size comparison. I mainly bought these for a conversion that I planned knowing that they were smaller than the Victrix Greeks which were a little too big for the conversions that I had in mind. It is rather ironic that the company that probably has the most scale issues in their miniature line, buys out immortal Miniatures and consequently incorporates even more scale issues.
So with all that said, here is a brief size comparison for everyone amongst a variety of Greeks. Below: 1. Victrix; 2. Immortal, 3. Gorgon, 4. Immortal, 5.Foundry, 6. Immortal, 7. Victrix, 8. Foundry
Below closer shot of the models on the left.Below a closer shot of the minis on the right from the numbered photo.
Below the face off between the Immortal on the left and Victrix on the right.
Below with the Gorgon on the right.
Below with the Foundry mini on the right.
Below with Immortal on the left and Victrix on the right.
Immortal did a nice job on much of the detail, but they are just way too small for my liking. And being smaller that detail becomes very fine and in my opinion will be harder to paint. The Victrix, Gorgon, and Foundry scales are much more to my liking. The Immortals are more spindly than my Warlord Romans, but yes the Romans are still a little shorter.
Next up the review of the Victrix Mercenary and Athenian kits.

WIP On the Desk: The Greek Project progress
So another weekend that I have no racing to do, next weekend. That said I decided to work on the Greeks a bit more. As I build, even though the kits from Victrix some good variety, is that I'm rather limited in pieces to use in building the models. That means that there are potentially repeat poses in the force. That has always bugged me, I like variety in appearance. My solution so far is hair.
And lots of it. Sort of mimicking some of the sculpting that Gorgon and Foundry have done on their Greeks.
I'll likely add a few beards also.
And below is my oracle model, which is actually named as Oracle from Megalith Games, Godslayer - Halodynes faction.
The pictures of this model on-line are splendid, but don't be fooled. I have my work cut out for me to get this model ready for tabletop use. The metal looks to be white metal, but is a bit soft, not quite like lead, but awfully close.
The sweeping wraps are simply a pain in the ass to get on the model. There is no good way to attach them to the point that they will be durable for game use, and with the model be so soft, they probably would not last any ways. So the additional drapings that are suppose to come off the wrists I will probably delete and replace with green stuff.
The model also has a crap load of flash on it, and like two or three flash lines going across the face, which is extremely odd to me. It must have been one super poorly designed mold to do that. I think its salvageable, but really. I've been scoping out some of their other Halodynes, but now I'm not sure I want to bother with anything else from Megalith Games.
And above is another comparison shot of a Gorgon Spartan to a Victrix Athenian. Kind of a funny shot with the Russian Alternative barbarian behind them. It shows just how large the fantasy chaos like figure is in comparison to the historical miniatures.

Back From Adepticon...
It was a fun weekend. Got to talk briefly to the usual Wisconsin and Illinois gamers that I normally see, along with Dave Pauwels, Dave Taylor, Chris Borer, Bennett Blaylock Doan, and hang with my buddy Mike Butcher. Played my first games of WAB on Sunday teamed up with Mike's Greeks which are pictured. Mike had a really cool game against Bennett's Britons, which may be the best looking army I have ever seen, also pictured. On Sunday Mike and I got to square off against Dave Pauwels and Jamie's greeks and Etruscans, both beautiful armies, was pleasure to finally play against Dave, whose elephant just owned my Romans.
