Rome is Here

More particular, Praetorians. This unit I did not take to Adepticon. The Romans thus far have been a love, hate relationship. I love the detail on the Warlord Games figures, but I'm going to have to adapt my painting style for the much smaller miniatures. They are true 25 mm in my mind.

I did not paint these to my normal tabletop, these are truly my speed painted technique. I painted this army to have some to game with using wahammer ancients. I think they turned out decent. Warhammer Ancients was fun to play, not sure what the new WAB 2.0 which was just released will be like. Hopefully it has not changed much.

As always much more to come.

Mutating the Empire...3

Some more shots of the various mutants, note the musician is the one with all of the bells.

Mutating the Empire...even more.

Next group of five mutant flaggies. These are planned to be used as chaos marauders. More mutations are in the works, multi-armed, two-headed, horned, chaos blessed....

Mutated Empire....Again...

I've shown a few of the mutated flaggeleants in the past, here's an update on them a bit, they have been a lot of fun to mutate and convert to chaos. I was a bit apprehensive about this project initially, but I think they turned out to be pretty neat little conversions. There are about 40 plus of these guys, each one a little bit different, so much more to follow.

Marauding Centaurs...Hobey Baker

I made a bunch of these guys a couple of years ago, very fun, very dynamic models. I recently just built this one for someone and remembered what fun they were to build. Not overly complicated, but good looking and fun.

And the Wisconsin - BC match-up didn't go too well for the National Title....oh well. Although, it was extremely cool to see Blake Geoffrion named the winner of the Hobey Baker Award for best college hockey player of the year. The first in Badger history, which is quite remarkable considering the number of great players that have come out of the Badger program. It was a fun 4 years of watching him. Considering his heritage, I shouldn't have been surprised, I look forward to watching him in the pros.

8 - 1...On Wisconsin!!

Yea baby...Badgers advance to the national championship game with the 8-1 win over the cinderalla of the tournament Rochester (who beat the one of the favorites in Denver) to make it to the Frozen Four. I've been watching Badger Hockey since the mid 70's this has definitely been one of my favorite teams to watch. It has a ton of heritage in addition to its talent, with Gefferion's great grandfather and grandfather in the hall of fame, former all time great Coach Bob Johnson's grandson and Olympian Mark Johnson's son on the team, John Rammage another generation, Jordy Murray another, its very cool seeing these guys but it makes me feel old because I grew up watching their dad's play. Root them on Saturday night, as they play for the title against either Miami or Boston.
