Viking Swordsman and Converted Dane Axes...

This is one of the former Saxon Miniatures' Viking Warlords, now a Warlord Games model.
I have two versions of this model.  I think its a semi-cool looking model, but its to linear.  The second model I'm likely going to at least bend the shield arm.
I needed guys with Danes Axes, now I have a bunch.  A variety of pieces used in making these guys.  The one on the left has a Gripping Beast (GB) Plastics body with arms from Wargames Factory models that Warlord Games now owns and produces.
The next one is a GB Viking with a Dark Ages head.  The next one in blue is a body from Wargames Factory with GB arms and a GW Empire Flaggelants head, and then the standard GB.
Once again....you know it....more to follow.

The first War Games Foundry Viking Unit....

Well more like a just an assembly of a lot of my painted Foundry Vikings.  They are fun models.

I do have to say I really enjoyed the beards on these guys, I've always struggled sculpting beards on my guys and they definitely gave me ideas on what I was doing wrong in my attempts.
I decided to give them pretty much all plastic shields from left over Gripping Beast models.
I just think the plastic shields are much nicer.  I did see that Victrix is getting ready to release their kit with some even larger plastic shields and I'm going to assume that their scale may be slightly larger than the GB Plastics.
They are old sculpts, but I think they do stand the test of time.
I really like the guy with the white raven shield second from the corner.

They you are, more to follow.

Converted Viking Warlord

Colin at Saxon Miniatures I think got a bit of crap about the huge head on this Viking Warlord that he had sculpted.  Note that mine does not have that head.  I did not like the size of that melon either, but I truly liked the pose.  I also removed the hand and put a Gripping Beast plastic axe in the hand.

The conversion works in my opinion and is probably one of my favorites of the group.
On the backside you can see that I sculpted in some hair as well.

Another of the Painted Sax....err....Warlord Miniatures Vikings

They are now the Warlord Miniatures, but this is actually one that I bought from Saxon Miniatures finally in paint, spear from the plastic Gripping Beasts.
 This a fun miniature.

I do miss Saxon Miniatures and wonder if and when Warlord will ever come out with anything new for this line.

This Viking said he had a Gift for Me

It's a plastic Gripping Beast conversion miniature.
The cape is from the Fireforge Knights.
As always more to follow.

VIKINGS!!! Another Painted Group

I definitely churning them out.  This one is kind of a unit, definitely not in a finished deal as I have some cool models in the back for fillers.
The front rank though is quite cool.  The first guy is a converted Warlord Games Barbarian, next to a Saxon Miniatures Warlord.  Two cool poses.
The downed character is Old Glory Miniatures.
The above 3 front rankers have a good dynamic with them.
Again you see me putting cool poses at the corners.
Big dane axe guy below and a close up of the eye candy wounded model
The Berserker and one of the cooler GBP's.

2nd Painted Saxon Unit!!! Finally...

Yep...this is the second fully painted Saxon unit.  All Gripping Beasts plastics comprised of Saxons and converted Dark Ages for the Fryd.
This one actually has a dracco banner, I still need to make the banner for the other unit.
A mix of shield transfers from Little Big Men, Battle Flag and then my own Paint.

Again I'm attempting make the movement trays cool with battle carnage.
 The back is cool.

Yea I like doing special poses on the corners.
More to come....
