Painted Early Imperial Roman Archer Units

Of the Warlord Games metal miniatures for their Early Imperial Romans, it is my opinion these are the best of their line.
This is not all of them that I have.  I have a few more currently on my painting desk, but its getting close to all of them.

I think the shot below is so cool.

There you have it.....more to follow.

Another short E.I. Roman update....

I'm sure when I got this piece.  Its the one off marching Roman from Warlord Games.
Its a fairly cool miniature, not sure why they came out with one solitary marching figure.
But it is a cool looking miniature, and definitely completes my collection.
I'll likely just use him as terrain piece.

Much more to follow.

Painted Greek Archers Unit

These Victrix models are absolutely awesome.  I'm planning to use these for auxiliaries with my Roman Legions.
You can see how dynamic they are.  They practically paint themselves.
And they are glorious looking once all done.
I think they are great addition.  They will likely double for use with my upcoming Greek army that is in the works.
Much more to follow.

Painted Early Imperial Roman Onager

You are probably like, hey Warlord Games does not make that model, and you would be correct.  The Onager is a RAFM model with a converted plastic Warlord Games crew.
So when you have tons of these miniatures, and need a siege weapon, this is what you do.

And you can see I converted the guy holding the rock, one of his hands, with the other being from a spare Bucinator or Cornicen.
The guy holding the shaft was a converted Pilum throwing arm.
The extra rocks are leftover greenstuff.
So there you have a Roman Onager.  I think the scale of the two different manufacturer lines worked out pretty good.  The RAFM if I remember right is 25mm, and the Warlord Games miniatures are actually 25 mm, not the 28mm that Warlord erroneously markets them as being, a major screw up on their part in my opinion.

Painted Roman Terrain Accessories

Well in my trip of all things Roman lately, I have painted up some of my terrain pieces.

Above you can see some of my engineers with them.  Its a variety pack of mini manufacturers.
Eventually, I'm going to switch gears and build a marching camp terrain piece down the road.
Some of the Grand Manner stuff that I painted.

I may end up using my left over Warlord Games bits to make some stuff like this as well.

There you have it, another short update, more to come.

Painted Batch #2 of Roman Scorpions

My second batch of Warlord Games Scorpions.  These are mostly the very cool plastic kit, with a couple of conversions going on.

The plastic scorpion is very good, better than the metal kit in my opinion and it has some really neat bits and extra parts in the kit.
And yea we are just getting started with this huge run of Romans.....

Painted Baelric Slingers

These are the Victrix models.  I'm going to use them as auxiliaries and skirmishers for various armies.  I also have a butt-load of Greeks that I just finished building that may get painted sometime next year.

I like these models, they are pretty cool and quite dynamic for lowly ole skirmishers.  Below is a better closeup.  They paint up quite easy.  Well thought out models.

 Much more to follow.
