Yes it is. This is one of the models that got me really into converting.
Lots of pieces and such coming together to make a cool model. It dates back to 2002 or 2003, can't quite remember, and was part of Khorne beastmen army.
Head is from the beastmen standard, lower jaw from the ogre head on the base, not sure what I was thinking at the time with the orc mouth. A tyranid limb and some plasti-card on the other limb for sharp pointy things. And the big hand can't remember where that came from. The metal body was left over from one of my old minotaurs.
That is a great conversion, weird and wonderful like a spawn should be. The painting helps a lot too. Great work!
ReplyDeleteYuck! Very cool conversion, that possessed head on the rear of the model made me both laugh and grimace. Also it's interesting to see an example of your work from that many years ago. Great chaos spawn!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys, much appreciated. One thing I love about spawn is how twisted you can get with them. The other thing that I sometimes forget with the stand alone pieces is to make them interesting to look at all around.
ReplyDeleteIt is fairly old, but I think it holds up pretty good. Back then it was about the best I could possibly do both converting and painting. And the whole process of creating it really was a step in the right direction for me. I mark this piece as one of those sort of marker pieces in my evolution as a converter.
