I have the last batches of the plastic Gripping Beast saxons on my paint table currently, a couple big units of them. These are the first ones that complete.
Some back ranks of Fryd spearmen. The Gripping Beast Dark Ages plastics are okay miniatures, a little stale on the poses. I think GBP tried to simpifly the assembling of their minis. In my opinion after painting a great deal of them, they made a mistake doing that and ended with a very boring lot of miniatures. But, they are versatile in use, and the heads do work with their plastic Viking and Saxon kits. As you can see I used a Saxon head on one of these miniatures.

Sometimes You Need to Pray
This is one of the Perry Brothers' monks that I painted up for my Saxons.
Actually was kind of fun painting up this miniature. Big change from what I have been painting.

The Storage Bin is Full!
Yea....I think its time the Crusaders find a new storage bin, as the Dark Ages will soon have Saxons getting added to it.
Some new Terrain Accessories....fence, trees, supplies, goats.....
Wait a minute goats? Goats and sheep? Yea, goats....
But first supplies, these are Hirst Arts crates and barrels. They paint up well.
Next up a GW fence. I painted this up a bit of a deadwood look and based it similar to my Vikings.
Some more of the Hirst Arts supplies.
These are some dead trees taken and cut off of the GW fence kit pieces. They turned out pretty cool looking.
And here are some of the plastic toy goats and sheep. I showed these a long time ago in their raw plastic form.
Here they are next to a raiding Gripping Beast plastic Viking, more on him later.

Another Man DOWN! .....poor guy
This time, I'm going to use this as a Saxon. This is an old Foundry miniature.....eerrrr....miniatures? Whatever it is.......
Fun stuff, I like how it turned out. A cool little vignette of sorts.
I've recently finished up a bunch of things like this, so more of these casualties to come.

Finished Some Older Gripping Beast Models
These are all older metal miniatures from Gripping Beast Vikings. They are really showing their age.
The poses are very stagnant. I did change out the weapons with plastic axes. The old weapons are such a pain to work with.
Its like this one and the one below, essentially the same figure with some different things on it. I like how the striped pants turned out. I'll be doing some more stripes.
All the basing is the same as my other Viking horde.
Yep....we are just getting warmed up, much more to follow soon....

Man Down!!! A new Viking
Err....maybe new Viking(s)....whatever you get the idea. I've been hard at work the last few weeks and finished up an absolute ton of stuff that I've been working. Mostly dark ages stuff, but some stuff to use with my crusaders as well.
This is one of the pieces that I was working on. I started painting this piece a couple of years ago, just prior to having brain surgery. Its nice to finally get it done.
I do think I will trim that clump of tall grass.
This is an Old Glory miniature from the Slain Casualty pack. Really cool sculpt, very fun to paint.
They are 25mm scale, but I don't see that as a to big a deal.
Blood is a base coated red paint covered with Tamiya clear red to give a more glossy viscous look.
I'll likely use this as an objective piece or eye candy.
